I pray that my life be in service to others,
To alleviate suffering, and see that pain is empty.
To calm the distressed, and find great peace
To awaken the sleeping, and be bathed in the light of grace

I pray to forgive and to be forgiven
To feel each moment, and open the heart of compassion
To see clarity and kindness arise from confusion and despair
To know that love is the transformer, the divine mystery, the only truth

I pray for you, for we are all one soul
To feel the stillness of the heart
To see the dawn of understanding
To know that our love, silent and vast, is without end

I pray to return to my family,
To feel their warmth and gentle being
To see the light of their eyes
To know the greatest blessing is each other.
